In this project, query processing in networked sensors for the purpose of network
monitoring is studied. This monitoring includes child to parent link quality, topology
representation including dynamic changes due to node failures or other abnormalities. The
monitoring queries have been implemented on both simulation and real-time environments
in order to satisfy both scalability and real-time requirements. A multi-hop topology is
constructed with family of Berkeley mica motes and real-time topology changes are
observed via monitoring tool. Parameters such as logical topology representation and link
qualities give an idea to the network administrator about the current state of the network
which enables him/her to make decision about deploying more sensors to area,
reconstructing topology etc.
Content of the project report includes necessary motivation and background for
WSN, querying WSN, the development platform, followed by implementation details,
experiments, their results and conclusion.
